Dateline: 1995…pictures from my past…
Years ago, I drove into the US to Detroit with a couple of friends in a rental car, having spent the week in Toronto and then Sarnia, Ontario. We drove willy-nilly East, away from the financial district and low and behold we were mesmerized by what we saw. I whipped out my camera to capture the moment. These two images (below) will be etched in my mind forever. Today, they represent ART, to me, anyway, because this part of the East Side has been totally destroyed. It longer exists.
A friend of mine recently emailed me this link. It’s the awesome railroad station in what-was-considered the Industrial Hub.
Today, for many tourists visiting Detroit, ruins are art. Ruins have become Detroit’s attraction.
